My name is Clark Robertson. My passion is Fine Art Photography.

I am a Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor in my "day" job:)

I have just returned to Scotland after having lived many years overseas. 24 years in Australia and 27 years in The Nederlands.

My main styles of photography, are as I said, Fine Art Photography, however, as you can see from my portfolio, this is a relatively new endeavour.

I also have a strong pull towards getting out into the beautiful Scottish countryside and capture the mesmerising awe we all witness when we get right into it. The Mountains in the Mist. The Lochs and Glens. And of course the Snow when it comes.

Then there is the "wee" stuff, the Macro photography I love.

Now that I am back home, I want to experiment with some Environmental style Portraiture. Collaborate with fresh faced models and some experienced ones too.

In the portfolio page, you will see samples of my past work. You will also see a section of inspirational images in the style I want to capture. Regarding my work with models, I have to say this.

A Note on Any Nudity in My Work

I photograph women. I think they are beautiful: their faces, their bodies, the way light moves across both. Sometimes the women in my photographs are naked. It's never the point, just part of the picture, as it has been in art for as long as people have made it.

This is art. If all you see is sex, that says more about you than it does about the photograph.

Every woman in front of my lens is there by choice, on her own terms. Often, the nudity is her idea.

Art has always made someone uncomfortable. That's part of its job. A line often attributed to Dostoevsky puts it bluntly: "Tolerance will reach such a level that intelligent people will be banned from thinking so as not to offend the imbeciles."

I don't need your approval, and I'm not asking for it. My life is mine. The model's body and choices are hers. Your life and your comfort are yours. If my work isn't for you, that's completely fine. Look away, scroll on, fuck off. Your interpretation of the photographs is yours. It isn't mine, it isn't hers, and it isn't the photograph's.

NEW PROJECT IDEAS

Fine art and editorial portrait photographer based in Stirling, and I'm currently looking to connect with expressive, creative female talent around the Stirling and Edinburgh areas for TFP (Time for Print) portfolio-building collaborations.

Rather than standard commercial looks, I am interested in raw, compelling faces that can help bring a narrative to life. I've attached a few of my concept flyers (Ballet.jpg, Vampire.jpg, Instruments.jpg, and FlyerPhilocalist.jpg) spanning gothic romance, classical performance, and atmospheric storytelling.

I'm developing a series of fine-art/editorial portraits where each photograph is intended to suggest a story without completely explaining it. I'm looking for a small number of women in Central Scotland who would enjoy collaborating on the concepts. Models, Ballet/contemporary dancers, Alternative/gothic models, Musicians and their instruments, Models interested in creating unusual portraiture, HMUA and any other creatives. Some ideas below.

Subject: Casting: VANITAS — A Dark Editorial

I am a photographer building a signature series around a specific archetype: the immortal woman who has seen everything, cares about nothing, and finds human desperation quietly hilarious. Think Night Teeth meets Helmut Newton meets Erwin Olaf. Extreme glamour. Extreme indifference.

I am looking for a woman who can embody this. Not a model who poses. A woman who can hold stillness, deadpan, and quiet power. Someone with presence.

This is a TFP collaboration. You get:

  • A character to inhabit (not just "look pretty")

  • Final retouched images for your portfolio and social media

  • Full credit and tagging

  • A copy of the full series for your own use

The shoot is [date, 3-5 hours, location]. I will provide mood board, shot list, and direction. You provide the presence.
